Another case where esd sucks - if you change the gstreamer output to "ALSA" (in
System -> Settings -> Sound, or by doing Alt+F2 -> "gstreamer-properties"), do
gnome applications work better? Using ALSA instead of esd is indeed the prefered
way if ALSA works for you (on many cards you cannot play more than one sound at
a time with ALSA).
