This problem is semi-fixed in kubuntu 5.10. When a CD/DVD is popped in the CDROM
drive, it is automatically detected. A konqueror window also pops up with the CD
opened. On the other hand, if the computer is booted with a CD already in the
drive, it starts up but doesn't detect the CD in the drive. I need to open and
re-close the drive door for the CD to be identified.
