Summary: totem-video-thumbnailer always previews first frame on
                    *.avi over smb via gnome-vfs
           Product: Ubuntu
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: i386
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: totem-xine
        AssignedTo: seb128 at ubuntu.com
        ReportedBy: smack at smack.gotdns.org
         QAContact: desktop-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com

If you browse a smb share with nautilus, the totem-video-thumbnailer ( or
gnome-video-thumbnailer as it's also called) will always generate a thumbnail
based on the first frame of the movie. This behavior is different in breezy than
it is in hoary. In hoary the thumbnail is generated from a frame that is located
mid way through the movie. In breezy it generates it from the first frame which
often doesn't make a useful thumbnail (lots of movies are black in the very
first frame). If I mount the share with smbmount totem-video-thumbnailer will
generate normal thumbnails from frames mid way through the movie.
