------- Additional Comments From gtaylor at clemson.edu 2005-10-11 02:34 UTC -------
Here's my mount output:

gtaylor at ren:~$ mount
/dev/sda3 on / type reiserfs (rw,noatime,notail)
proc on /proc type proc (rw)
sysfs on /sys type sysfs (rw)
devpts on /dev/pts type devpts (rw,gid=5,mode=620)
tmpfs on /dev/shm type tmpfs (rw)
usbfs on /proc/bus/usb type usbfs (rw)
tmpfs on /lib/modules/2.6.12-9-386/volatile type tmpfs (rw)
/dev/sda1 on /media/sda1 type ntfs (rw)
tmpfs on /dev type tmpfs (rw,size=10M,mode=0755)

/dev/sda3 would be my root partition, /dev/sda1 is a windows partition,
/dev/sda2 is swap.

I'm not sure what you mean by go to the directory. There is nothing wrong with
the drive or its being mounted, there just shouldn't be an sda icon on my
desktop by default.
