           Summary: gdm dies during boot
           Product: Ubuntu
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: amd64
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: gdm
        AssignedTo: seb128 at ubuntu.com
        ReportedBy: ashley.maher at didymodesigns.com.au

Breezy Ubuntu amd64. Upgraded from hoary amd64.

Then clean install just incase bug was from upgrade. Bug below same either way.

During multi-user boot gdm allows uname-pwd entry. Begins login cycle, nautalis,
then update manager, update manager appears to be complete before the freeze.
then freezes.

Logs not telling me much that I can see.

If I boot into rescue mode, then start gdm everything works as normal.

If from rescue mode I "ls rc2.d" then start every process by hand, in order set
in rc2.d, everything appears to work, including gdm. If I restart gdm from this
point (ie ctr-alt-backspace) it freezes again.

I used hoary amd64 with np before switching to breezy.

Hardware: tyan k8we, dual opteron, nvidia 6200 video card, nvidia non-free driver.
