           Summary: Time & Date Manager and ntp
           Product: Ubuntu
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: other
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: gnome-desktop
        AssignedTo: seb128 at ubuntu.com
        ReportedBy: gtaylor at clemson.edu
         QAContact: desktop-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com

If you click on the "Synchronise with ntp servers" check box, you'll be asked
whether you want to install ntp support. Hitting install ntp results in the
package being properly installed and you can hit the "Synchronize with ntp
server now" button to carry out a sync. But checking the check box to
automatically sync results in the same "Do you want to install ntp" dialog box
coming up. Closing date manager and re-opening it, checking the checkbox results
in no dialog. So the manager isn't aware of the change in presence of the ntp
package without a restart.
