Ubuntu | gnome-terminal
Summary: Autocomplete on command line is incorrect when in an ftp
session
Product: Ubuntu
Version: unspecified
Platform: Other
OS/Version: other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: gnome-terminal
AssignedTo: seb128 at ubuntu.com
ReportedBy: ubuntu at jackwasey.com
QAContact: desktop-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com
I am using the latest Breezy on this date 8th October, 2005.
To replicate:
1) Open a terminal
2) open an ftp site using the command line "ftp"
3) write the first few letters of a local file name
4) hit tab to autocomplete
Expected: the autocomplete either cleverly uses results from a background 'ls'
(is this too clever for ftp?); or the autocomplete does nothing.
Actual: Autocomplete fills in a local file name
Alternative Expected result: If the user has prefixed a line with "!" then a
local filename autocomplete would be appropriate, but not from the directory
from which the ftp session was started, but the 'lcd' directory of the ftp
session which may have changed.
Would you rather I sent bugs directly to gnome? Thanks, and good luck with the
release - it's looking excellent. J.
