gstreamer0.8-mad is not a standard Depends because mp3 is not patents-free and
can't be shipped by default due to that. We are working on making easy to know
what to install to read a file though:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/EasyCodecInstallation. I'm closing this bug as NOTABUG
since it works fine in fact and the wiki specification is the appropriate place
to discuss how to fix the easy installation part.
