Summary: Printing via cups prints distorted pages
Product: Ubuntu
Version: unspecified
Platform: Other
OS/Version: other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: gnome-cups-manager
AssignedTo: martin.pitt at ubuntu.com
ReportedBy: mdke at ubuntu.com
QAContact: desktop-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com
Hi there, apologies that this bug report is not very precise and/or useful, but
it is the best I can do given limited printing knowledge!
When I print to my office printer over samba, it works nicely if I sent it via
the "recommended" driver (pxlmono). If I select the driver as "postscript", then
it prints distorted pages (with some weird symbols). No problem, because the
pxlmono works nicely, and that is default.
However when I connect via cups, I do not have the option to select that driver,
and it prints distorted documents again! This is a problem for me, especially
because the samba print server seems to have gone down recently and I can only
connect to the printer via cups ;)
The printer model is Ricoh Aficio 1075.
Please tell me how I can give better information to diagnose this bug!
Thanks.
