Hm, gvm.log says:
  manager.c/1056: is_mounted property of
/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/block_2001-1205 changed to true
  manager.c/464: Photos detected: /media/CF_CARD032M/dcim
and hal says:
    volume.is_mounted = true  (bool)

That means that while you mounted the card manually, the debugging
gnome-volume-manager was still running? Can you please do the lshal and stop the
g-v-m debugging before the manual mount?
