Summary: mounting a broken diskette gives no error message
           Product: Ubuntu
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: i386
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: gnome-applets
        AssignedTo: debzilla at ubuntu.com
        ReportedBy: joolz at xs4all.nl
         QAContact: desktop-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com

When mounting a broken diskette (dmesg says: "Buffer I/O error on device fd0,
logical block 0. end_request: I/O error, dev fd0, sector 0") Disk Mounter 2.10.1
under Hoary gives no error message but keeps polling, stressing the CPU up to
100%. Only after I searched the mount process and killed it manually, an error
message was given and the CPU was released.
