Summary: Selecting the System menu (at least) often locks menus
           Product: Ubuntu
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: i386
               URL: http://laniels.org/img/menu_locking.png
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: gnome-menus
        AssignedTo: seb128 at ubuntu.com
        ReportedBy: steve at laniels.org
         QAContact: desktop-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com

Clicking on the system menu often leads to the situation in the screenshot
listed in the URL above: the menu depresses into the toolbar, but no menu drops
down. It's impossible from then on to select *any* of the GNOME menus
(Applications, Places), and I have to drop to a virtual terminal to shut down GNOME.

Note that this lost-menu problem doesn't seem to affect anything else. My key
commands still work fine, so I was able to open a browser and post this comment.
And all the menus within Firefox or gnome-terminal still work fine. It's somehow
localized -- it appears -- to the GNOME menus.
