This upload fixes the issue:

 gnome-menus (2.11.90-0ubuntu1) breezy; urgency=low
 .
   * New upstream version:
     Fixes:
     - Fix issue with handling of filename encodings.
     - Only try to include ".directory" for <LegacyDir> if it exists.
     - Re-name the Edutainment sub-menu to Education.
     - Fix spec compliance issue with <Merge> tag handling.
     - Remove some unused code.
     - Plug some leaks.
     Menu Editor:
     - HIGify menu editor.
     - Make "Desktop" menu appear correctly.
   * debian/patches/06_desktop_rename.patch:
     - use the correct menu name.
