Summary: [BReezy] Menu Editor GUI polish suggestions
Product: Ubuntu
Version: unspecified
Platform: i386
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: gnome-panel
AssignedTo: seb128 at ubuntu.com
ReportedBy: vincent.trouilliez at modulonet.fr
QAContact: desktop-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com
In the menu editor, in the left pane, the structure of the Gnome menu looks like :
> Applications
-
-
-
> Preferences
- Administration
- Preferences
It says "Preferences" instead of "System", it's confusing.
Also, it displays "Administration" first, then below, "Preferences". In the
actual System menu, they are not in that order, it's "Preferences" first, then
"Admin".
The Menu Editor should mimic/picture as closely as possible the actual menu
structure.
Also, I don't think it's necessary to add icons next to the "Applications" and
"System" (once the typo is fixed ie) menus. It really an icon for the sale of
putting an icon, it serves no purpose, it looks overloaded/crowdy and the icons
aren't particularly meaningful at that. To distingush a menu from a menu entry,
we could rely on indentation, print the menu name in bold and/or slightly bigger
font size, maybe add also a little space, or a horizontal line/rule, to visually
separate a menu from its entries.
