I guess that the file you are asking is the one in /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/state

Here is the content of the file:
present:                 yes
capacity state:          ok
charging state:          charging
present rate:            272 mA
remaining capacity:      3552 mAh
present voltage:         12575 mV

At this moment the applet shows 100% charge but it still says that there will be
6 minutes before charging.  If I keep reading the file, the "present rate"
slowly goes down.
