I experienced the same problem with the forward slash character in a printer
name.  I was unable to print to the printer from firefox or set it as the
default printer.  Changing the name to not contain a slash fixed the problem. 
Another patch should probably be submitted upstream to also strip this
chararacter in addition to spaces.
