mdz at ubuntu.com changed:

           What |Removed |Added
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
             Status|NEW |RESOLVED
         Resolution| |WONTFIX

------- Additional Comments From mdz at ubuntu.com 2005-12-11 21:48 UTC -------
- gdm uses only a few hundred kilobytes of additional memory, and provides
useful functionality
- it is useful for the live CD package set to be a superset of the default
desktop install, for maintainability reasons
- the live CD does boot on 128M machines; this is easily tested with mem=128M
