Summary: Permissions are incorrect for partition on external usb

           Product: Ubuntu
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: i386
        OS/Version: other
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: gnome-volume-manager

This issue already existed in Hoary and Warty and has unfortunately not been
fixed yet - it appears only when using an ext2/ext3-partition on an external
harddisk. In contrast to FAT32 partition which mount well with ember/-rwx------
(ember is my standard user), ext3 mounts with root/-rwxr-xr-x.
Maybe it is not a actual bug, but it would be very helpful, if also ext3 could
be mounted with user write permissions.
