Not sure what I can do at this point. Since it's breezy, it unfortunately has a
low priority for me (dapper kernel development is in full swing and taking lots
of my time).

The oops is definitely block device related, but I don't see it for every boot.
May be a red herring.

Can you try booting with noapic and see if that fixes anything?
