Okay, I don't want to annoy anybody, but is this honestly a "normal" error? I
certainly hope not! It is producing constant system-wide crashes on my machine
(which worked perfectly under Hoary, by the way); the only way it could possibly
be worse is if was actively corrupting my data. Which I'm sure it probably
*will* do, given that constantly hard-resetting the machine has got to be taking
a toll on the hard drive. If I can't get this fixed in a few weeks, I will have
no choice but to abandon Ubuntu, as this is a completely untenable situation.

The Bugzilla docs describe a "Critical" error as comprising: "crashes, loss of
data, severe memory leak". This certainly describes my problem, so I am
changing it back to that.

Thanks for letting me know that the unmount "error" is common-place. I do
believe that I am correct in assuming that the problem is somewhere in the
shutdown process, however, because the maching works well whenever it doesn't go
through the shutdown process.
