Subject: Issue with current version of Checkbox provider in the Stable PPA
To: ce-certification-qa <ce-certification-qa at lists.canonical.com>

Hi everyone,

Today, the QA team discovered an issue with the latest Checkbox
release. More specifically, a change brought to solve lp:1584607 ended
up generating huge log files when running stress test plans, ending up
with 250+ MB submission files that could not be sent over to the
Certification website.

I pushed a quick fix to undo this change and prepared a new release
for the Checkbox provider (v0.30). It's currently still building in
the Testing PPA and I will double-check the fix tomorrow morning when
I get to work. If everything looks fine, I'll push it to the Stable
PPA, then start investigating and try to find a smarter way to provide
what's needed for QA and HWE team without generating 1.9 GB log files
:)

In the meantime, please be aware that the current version of the
Checkbox providers in the stable PPA (v0.29) has this flaw, so please
refrain from using it if you're doing stress tests or any test that's
doing repeated calls to either pm_test or fwts_test scripts.

I'll keep you posted when the fix lands in the Stable PPA.

Regards,
