I somehow messed up my project's repo, please help

The command line also shows this problem, see below.

As a test, I tried to commit some of them with

bzr commit -m "File attribute changes only" html/*.html

from both Wing and the CL, only to get

bzr: ERROR: Path(s) are not versioned:   <<long list of html files>>

I'm afraid I'm still confused as to why 'bzr diff' doesn't make this
complaint. Could it be my older bzr version (from fink on the Mac)?
It's v1.18 from 2009 because I'm still using python 2.5.

I'd rather just have a solution that puts the +x's into the repo and
lets me get on with things that are getting delayed! Any other hints
as to what is happening here? I'm out of my depth.
