Bazaar Mercurial Plugin to access BitBucket

Does Mercurial explicitly track directories (including empty
directories)?

If so, then I apologize for echoing Ben (I'm most familiar with git,
although I use hg every day -- our repo does not exercise rename/copy
tracking at all so for me the issue doesn't come up in practice).
