I was also inspired by difftools when I implemented --using, and I
always envisioned supporting full-tree diffing as well. I would
recommend making these changes in the core. Perhaps recursive diffing
could be indicated in the --using format, e.g. "bzr diff --using

It doesn't seem so. Tools that can perform merges aren't the same as
tools that do diffs. For more info on that module, see its merge
