The main thing is that it is not a very small isolated patch, which
makes us a little hesitant to put it into a stable release. I did write
the patch against 2.3, and I left a bug-task for us to land it there. I
mostly wanted to give some time to shake out in 2.4 before I did
anything with the stable series.
