Can bzr data be purged of specific directories or files?

With subversion one can dump a repository, remove unwanted directories
or files, and then reload the repository, thereby cleaning up old
cruft.

Can anything similar be done with bzr?

I ask because, in the process of messing with my new bzr repos, I have
committed some large files that I wish I hadn't.
