It really is a case that Bazaar on Ubuntu 8.04 cannot branch a 2a format
branch. That it is held on Launchpad is not relevant.

Bazaar branch formats are composed of a separate repository, branch (and
working copy if it exists) formats. Bazaar is often fairly poor at
summarizing the combination down to the short string shown by 'bzr
info'. 'bzr info -v' will be more informative.
