But if you use the daily builds, they do break.

There is a firefox addon called Nightly Tester Tools [1] that allows you
to enable a addon that is incompatible. A similar tool feature would be
useful for bzr.dev testers

The other feature the firefox + addons.mozilla.org has is that a addon
author can mark a addon compatible with a newer version of firefox on
addons.mozilla.org, with out having to release a newer version of the addon.
