It is possible that this stems from a bad import in the first place.

I think Ian has a fast-import stream, and probably already has a 2a
format repository you can download instead.

I don't have a copy here, but the linux fi stream is ~2.6GB compressed,
and I would guess the OOo one would also be large. (IIRC, their CVS repo
was >3GB.)
