I recall Aaron having concerns about 'bzr bind' using the parent
location, and that itself also lends concern to 'bzr branch --bind'
binding to the parent.

I agree that we need to get a working, simple pattern here. It is a good
sign that you looked for branch --bind (its data supporting that
proposed option). However, the fact that you felt you needed to use
'branch' at all is very odd - 'branch' creates a new line of development
- its how we describe it. In fact, all you needed to do was 'bzr
remove-tree' in what the checkout command gave you and you'd have been
away working again.

Thanks for chiming in though, I appreciate seeing more opinions & data
in this space.
