I started submitting merges right as the PP program started, so I can't
speak to what it was like before. I can say as a very in-experienced
contributor, I felt like even my less than perfect patches were taken
seriously. It is a great relief to someone new that the experienced and
veteran developers will be patient and provide feedback.
I feel that I should make it explicitly known to the PPs that I didn't/don't
mind criticism of my work. If it's bad, I'd rather you told me and why. It
isn't the review of the work that is scary, it's the feeling of not being
taken seriously. I think that so far the PP program has done
an excellent job.
