Now I've had time to look at this, I can see that John has bundled
what looks like the most recent rewrite/rebase (0.5.4final), but the
tarball for that version on samba.org has, in info.py, an explicit
demand for 2.0.0 as the most recent bzrlib.
(Trivially patched on my own target machine, but not elegant to ship
in an installer.)
I've never been tempted to write a plugin, so I don't know what
guidelines there are, if any, but I can see that 'hardcoded'
requirements like this must make life difficult for the Config
Management element of cutting new installlers. Can the bzr team guide
plugin writers/maintainers towards a more relaxed and productive way
of working?
