Hi Al,
As Alexander mentioned, you probably wanty fast-import-filter instead of
split. See
http://doc.bazaar-vcs.org/migration/en/data-migration/fast-import-filter.html.

This feature is still under development. Aaron made a lot of progress
recently but things were put on hold as we focussed on getting 2.0
stable. Right now, the best option is probably the scmproj project.

How often do you expect to use them? I can't speak for TortoiseBzr but I
can say that Explorer is looking to include most core commands over time.

Hopefully our GUIs now cover 95% of what they'll need. The only commonly
used features missing to my knowledge are shelve/unshelve and rename.
