Nope, this failed.
Connecting to bazaar.launchpad.net...
sftp> cd ~mailman-coders/mailman/3.0
sftp> ls -la
drwxr-xr-x 6 1001 1001 4096 Sep 30 02:52 .bzr
drwxr-xr-x 5 1001 1001 4096 Mar 17 2008 .bzr.backup
drwxr-xr-x 5 1001 1001 4096 Sep 30 02:49 backup.bzr
sftp> rename backup.bzr backup.bzr.failed
Couldn't rename file "/~mailman-coders/mailman/3.0/backup.bzr" to "/
~mailman-coders/mailman/3.0/backup.bzr.failed": Permission denied
sftp> rename .bzr .bzr.failed
Couldn't rename file "/~mailman-coders/mailman/3.0/.bzr" to "/~mailman-
coders/mailman/3.0/.bzr.failed": Permission denied
sftp> exit
LOSA time?
However, it's odd that there's a .bzr directory and a backup.bzr
directory. I don't know how to crawl out of this hole. :(
