I don't think this is a vote between two proposals, as you indicate
elsewhere, it's a request for feedback on two ideas.

State what you like and dislike about each design and suggest what
improvements could be if you can think of some.

If the search box is the reason you prefer number two then how
would you feel about design #1 plus a search box?
