As I see it, it's blocked waiting for some design concerns to be
addressed.  My idea is that these would best be resolved by having a
document describing how it works -- essentially as a large cover
letter for the patches -- and then we can talk about any concerns
there at a higher level.  If anyone has better ideas I'd like to hear
them.

There are, as John pointed out, quite a few patches blocked waiting on
this.  Perhaps we can at least separate out a few to land.

It seems like other things have come up that Aaron has to work on in Launchpad.
