I'm pretty sure it DTRT, since I used a lightweight checkout in
writing it.

Hey, I want the _capability_, I don't care about the implementation.  :)

You're a lot better placed than I am to judge pythonic or bzric
cleanliness, so if you're happy with the code, and the feature works,
it's golden by me.
