There is an open bug about supporting this, but it is not possible at
the moment. Personally, I would consider this a 2.0 blocker since
everybody seems to run into it at one point or another.
A workaround is to create a shared repository and create your checkout
inside of that. If the checkout fails halfway through you can remove
the checkout and restart it without refetching all data.
