Aaaye! Deleted shared repository .bzr directory, any options?

Does bzr make files in a shared repository read-only when it's not
writing them?  I suppose this is probably going to have a performance
impact, and wouldn't be proof against rm -f, though (and in this kind
of situation I for one pretty much automatically do "rm -rf <dir>"
...).  Ah, well, I guess that wouldn't help much.  FWIW, anyway....
