I apologize John, I certainly didn't mean to overstep any bounds.  I  
only asked as the stated reason for landing brisbane-core into 1.14  
was to allow people to test the new format.  But without those two  
patches, I cannot even pull into a branch.  I did file a bug:

On it, Robert Collins suggested also using your second patch.  With  
those two patches, I can pull into into and use a dev6-rr branch.   
Though as the bug report shows, the repository fails a check.
