[MERGE] Minor tweak to debug_memory() output

I was doing some memory profiling yesterday, and noticed that it could
be a little bit nicer on win32.
This patch changes it so that it actually outputs the message passed,
and reformats it so the 'short=True' form prints on a single line. Which
makes it a lot nicer when you are printing out lots of memory usage
statements.
