I'm also keen for the 'log -p' fix to be included because lots of
repositories have unicode text in them:

4128:  Fixed problem with `log -p` and non-ascii content of files

This isn't critical but it makes log -p available to many people
who like 'git show' and to those of us comparing migrated branches
against the original as a cross check.
