Bazaar's shared repos do place some constraints on the location of
branches.  Subversion places rather heavier constraints on branch location.

Like Subversion, Bazaar does not place any constraints on the location
of working directories, so you can organize those as you please.

Or you can use stacking to give you similar advantages to a shared repo,
with no constraints on location.
