I don't think it's a serious burden for users.  I think when it happens
for users, it indicates a big mistake and they probably need to do
something very different (like run the command in a different directory).

I think that the editor-cum-MUA should leave *more* of the file status
tracking to Bazaar, so that not only does it not duplicate the effort,
it can't cause the error.
