How much do you have your hopes set to use the current branch nick to
generate a commit message?

Because checkouts now need to obtain their nicks from their master branch,
which might need a password.
It is annoying if you have to type the password before typing the commit
message.
We might want to read the nick after obtaining the commit message, but I'm
not sure which plugins/GUIs would be affected.
