Yes, but I don't know whether tty.setraw(fd) is effective in Emacs,
whatever its defaults are.

I don't think that's an issue.  prompt can return newline when newline
is the only character, or it can always strip newlines and we can give
the same behavior to the empty string.

"f" means "finish", just as "d" means "done" in shelf 1.  It applies the
default (which shelf2 doesn't allow changing yet) to all remaining changes.
