Debian backport... a bit old ?

Hi *,

I am new to the list so sorry if this has already been asked, but I couldn't
find any reference in the archives...

Ok so my problem is that I am using Bazaar between two sites quite far from
each other... and my repository has grown so much that it starts to be
painful to merge from one place to the other regularly...

I am using a Debian etch, and the last version of Bazaar backported there is
1.5...

Since the current stable version of Bazaar is 1.8 and I heard there has been
a lot of improvements in performance, I was wondering if there is any plan
to backport a newer version, and if so when...

Or maybe someone here has advice about how I should install bzr from source
on my machine if this is suitable ?

Also please let me know if my request should redirected somewhere else.
