lost commits in our repo!

The down-thread seems to have moved to the next thread down despite the 
error message.  I threw caution to the wind and moved down to the bottom 
thread "trunk", then ran "bzr rebase" and got this traceback:

Maybe the result of my earlier indiscretion of going ahead with what i 
wanted to do despite the "down-thread" error...
