[HELP!] serverside hooks behind bzr+http://

I wanted to ask if you got it right with bzr+http.
So there is some hope. If I gan just figure out whats wrong.
Do you know of any ways to debug this?
maybe I can hackk bzr and write some debugging info when this hook is
supposed to be called.... (mm will try that)

it is installed system wide:
/opt/bzr/bzrlib/plugins/shell_hooks

[root at gforge ~]# ls -lah /usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/bzrlib
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 15 Sep  5 23:55
/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/bzrlib -> /opt/bzr/bzrlib
