For a graphical user interface to achieve a feeling of being "live", the
long standing requirement (from usability testing) is that the
application has to respond in under 0.1s.
Admittedly the more tolerant amongst us are willing to grant that Bazaar
has a lot of worth while work to do under the hood, but basic command
response time is an area worth focus - if for no other reason than it is
a big part of the first impression that people get.
Encouraging topic to see being discussed... and, as ever, fascinating to
see a crew of Python ninjas considering ways to make their environment
perform better.
